How do you know whether an AI system is high-risk under the EU AI Act?

Article 6 combines systems used as safety components of regulated products and the use cases listed in Annex III. Under the 2026 Commission timeline, high-risk obligations are expected on 2 December 2027 for the covered Annex III areas and on 2 August 2028 for systems integrated into regulated products.

An actionable diagnostic should produce a classification result, an Article 6(3) analysis, an evidence register, a remediation roadmap and a shareable export.
